Graduate Education Foundation Achieves Significant Milestone

More than 100 hospitals now subscribe to CMElectures.org/CEUlectures.org

Collingswood, NJ / (October 2008) – Graduate Education Foundation, Inc. (GEF) announced that more than one-hundred hospitals nationwide now subscribe to its online educational programming. The seminars are presented in a "Grand Rounds" format and are typically offered in partnership with state medical societies and nursing associations. There are presently 130 accredited, multi-media presentations online that encompass eighteen clinical topics. All lectures are original, evidence-based and non-biased and authored exclusively for GEF.

Web-based education is gaining rapid support among physicians, nurses and other health care professionals. Their use of online continuing education as a day-to-day resource is proving to be convenient, efficient and helpful as physicians and nurses attempt to balance their need to stay abreast of "best practice" standards along with family and practice responsibilities.

From the hospital's perspective, online access to education offers considerable benefits to their medical and nursing staff. It is especially helpful in today's environment where in-house budgets are tighter than ever and pharmaceutical and equipment companies have significantly reduced their hospital funding for continuing education.

Linda Spadaccini, Library Director at Waterbury Hospital in Connecticut, stated "CMElectures.org has been a tremendous tool for our clinical staff. In the fast pace setting our physicians practice in it is often hard for them to find the time to take educational seminars." She went on to say that "CMElectures.org's major benefit is its 24/7 access, simplicity and convenience to our clinicians and its comprehensive statistical reports on usage to Waterbury's CME Committee."

GEF was recently cited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) for "exemplary compliance" following its reaccreditation process. In its report summary the ACCME states, "The provider has an innovative and creative mechanism in place to measure the effectiveness of its overall CME program with evidence that improvements are made on a regular basis."

GEF is a not-for-profit organization, founded in 2002, to enhance the training of healthcare providers by improving both the quality of and access to Continuing Education. Its CMElectures.org/CEUlectures.org division dedicates 100% of its programming to original clinical lectures for online learning. GEF's mission is to better prepare providers to meet the challenges of a constantly changing healthcare environment by offering timely, unbiased, evidence-based lectures that are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
