New Online Education Available for Arkansas Physicians

Medical Society partners with the Graduate Education Foundation to Provide CME Series

Collingswood, NJ / (April 2007) – Medical professionals in Arkansas will now have access to a unique series of on-line seminars presented in the classic Grand Rounds format. The series is presented by the Arkansas Medical Society in affiliation with the Graduate Education Foundation (GEF), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving professional health care education and patient outcomes.

Grand Rounds Online provides physicians with an on-demand lecture series that for the first time brings to the health care professional's computer the quality, content and educational benefit previously experienced only in the traditional grand-rounds hospital environment.

Developed by clinical and academic educators for physicians and other health care professionals, www.CMElectures.org consists of more than 125 fully accredited, multi-media presentations covering the full spectrum of clinical and surgical care. All lectures are original, evidence-based, timely and relevant to the delivery of day-to-day patient care. They are reviewed routinely and updated as changes in clinical practice warrant.

For a modest monthly subscription (less than the cost of many journal subscriptions), physicians can easily enroll and have instant and unlimited access to world-class authorities on patient care, almost as if they were accompanying them on grand rounds. Unlike many other CME programs, the GEF series accepts no commercial support from pharmaceutical companies or medical device manufacturers, preserving the integrity of the content and the objectivity of the distinguished faculty.

The over 4000 physician members of the Arkansas Medical Society will be able to access these CME programs at a reduced rate as a benefit of their membership in the Society. Members should log on to the AMS website, www.ArkMed.org, for more information.

"The AMS is an outstanding professional organization with a commitment to supporting the latest advancements in patient care and professional education," said Michael S. Feldman, M.D., FACC, founder and chairman of GEF as well as a practicing cardiologist and professor of medicine. "The society is the kind of partner we envisioned when our faculty of physician educators developed www.CMElectures.org."

For additional information, visit www.ArkMed.org, or call the GEF at 877-263-5400.

The Arkansas Medical Society is a voluntary professional association, established in 1875, and represents more than 4,000 physicians and medical students in all fields of medicine. The Arkansas Medical Society is affiliated with the American Medical Association.
