Largest Provider of High Quality Online Medical Education Receives Initial ACCME Accreditation

Award received after rigorous self-assessment and on-site survey

Collingswood, NJ – Graduate Education Foundation, Inc. (GEF), a non-profit foundation, was recently surveyed by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Education (ACCME) and awarded provisional accreditation for two years as a provider of Continuing Medical Education (CME) for physicians. Provisional Accreditation by ACCME is the standard status for first-time applicants, and has a two-year term. To achieve Provisional Accreditation, the applicant must be found in Partial Compliance or better in all ACCME requirements through a rigorous self-assessment and on-site survey.

ACCME accreditation seeks to assure both physicians and the public that continuing medical education activities provided by GEF meet the high standards of the Essential Areas, Elements and Policies for Accreditation as specified by the ACCME. The ACCME rigorously evaluates the overall continuing medical education programs of institutions according to standards adopted by all seven member-organizations of the ACCME. These are: the American Board of Medical Specialties; the American Hospital Association; the American Medical Association; the Association for Hospital Medical Education; the Association of American Medical Colleges; the Council of Medical Specialty Societies; and the Federation of State Medical Boards of the U.S., Inc.

GEF's CMElectures.org is an innovative new series of online continuing medical education lectures for doctors and other healthcare professionals. Developed by leading physician-educators, CMElectures.org consists of more than 100 multi-media presentations covering a broad spectrum of specialty care and medical and surgical related issues. Lecture series are offered in 18 areas of specialty including pain management, cardiology, rheumatology/arthritis, orthopedics/sports medicine, pediatrics, emergency medicine, and patient safety and risk management

"GEF's achievement of accreditation demonstrates the commitment of our staff and authors to provide original, non-biased, evidence-based CME activities that are relevant to the practice of medicine in today's dynamic health care environment.," said Michael S. Feldman, M.D., Founder and Chairman of GEF, and a practicing cardiologist and professor of medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine.

"The successful blend of an extraordinarily knowledgeable faculty, and the ability to leverage leading-edge, digital production techniques with an Internet-based delivery system, has resulted in what is truly the next generation of continuing medical education," says Dr. Nash, an international expert on outcomes management, medical staff development, and quality-of-care improvement.

CMElectures.org have been integrated into educational programming by prestigious medical schools, teaching institutions and both state and national medical societies.
