Collingswood, NJ (February 26, 2007) – Graduate Education Foundation (GEF), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving professional healthcare education and patient outcomes, today announced CEUlectures.org, a unique series of on-line lectures developed by clinical educators.
CEUlectures.org provides registered nurses, advanced practice nurses and nurse practitioners with an on-demand lecture series that for the first time brings to the healthcare professional's computer the quality, content, and educational benefit previously experienced only in the traditional grand-rounds hospital environment. Many healthcare professionals are finding the lectures to be a valuable reference to help them stay abreast of recent scientific information for their day-to-day practice as well as being an effective tool for meeting their continuing education requirements.
The lectures are presented in a multimedia format, which enables nurses to engage in a more convenient and dynamic learning opportunity, which is in contrast to completing home study materials or simply reading journals. Developed by clinical and academic educators for nurses, nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals, www.CEUlectures.org consists of more than 125 fully accredited, multi-media presentations covering a broad spectrum of specialty care and medical and surgical issues. Lecture series are offered in 18 areas of specialty including pain management, cardiology, rheumatology/arthritis, orthopedics/sports medicine, pediatrics, emergency medicine, and patient safety and risk management. All lectures are original, evidence-based, timely, and relevant to the delivery of day-to-day patient care. They are reviewed routinely and updated as changes in clinical practice warrant.
For a modest monthly subscription (less than the cost of many journal subscriptions), nurses on the front lines of American healthcare can easily enroll and have instant and unlimited access to world-class authorities, on primary patient care, almost as if they were accompanying them on patient rounds.
Dr. Feldman, the chairman of GEF, stated that, "the delivery of patient care is changing so rapidly that it is difficult to keep up with current best practices. We are embracing web-based technology and tailoring the programs to help nurses and nurse practitioners make better informed decisions about patient care."
GEF is an approved provider of continuing education in nursing by the Alabama State Nurses Association (ASNA), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation, and by the Florida Board of Nursing. Our contact hours are accepted by every state.
"GEF's achievement of accreditation demonstrates the commitment of our staff and authors to provide original, non-biased, evidence-based continuing education activities that are relevant to nursing practice in today's dynamic health care environment," says Cynthia W. Haughey, MSN, RN, CE Coordinator at GEF and nurse educator.
Unlike many other CEU programs, the GEF series accepts no commercial support from pharmaceutical companies or medical device manufacturers. This important policy preserves the integrity of the content and the objectivity of the distinguished faculty. Besides operating the on-line CEU service, GEF awards institutional master teacher grants at the university and postgraduate level.
